Keyboard Shortcut Handler for Windows Store Apps

Unfortunately the .NET Framework for Windows Store Apps has no built-in support for keyboard shortcuts. The following ShortcutHandler class compensates this weakness. It captures keyboard shortcuts and calls the assigned actions.

The ShortcutHandler can be initialized and configured in the XAML code-behind files in the following way.
